Q1: WHY IS THIS AUCTION FREE?
A1: Localicelo.com is simply designed to provide people with a FREE basic auction platform, which includes 1 photo and your description. This allows more people to list products on this site. The fees we do have are very minimal and they are optional so even if you don't want to pay anything, there's no need to pay anything. We want as many people as possible selling stuff on our auction site.As you have probably seen, there are many auction sites available, but unlike other auction sites, this auction does not charge a value based fee (fee based on the amount of the sale) and we don't charge you for placing bids either. This is a simple auction ... whoever has the highest bid wins the auction once the auction goes into "closed" status.
Q2: WHEN DO THE AUCTIONS END?
A2: At the end of the listing date ... there is no hour or minute countdown.
Q3: HOW ARE WINNERS SELECTED?
A3: There are 2 methods:
Option 1: As long as the auction has one bid for the minimum bid amount, the auction will automatically go into a "frozen" status at the end of the day. Once the auction is frozen, the seller is required to log in to their account, go to the product section of their member area, select the product and click on "close" to change the status to closed. Once this is completed, the winner is announced and the winner is automatically contacted.
Option 2: If the seller has a reserve price and the reserve price is met, the auction will automatically end and it will go into closed status (this auction will not go into frozen status). If the reserve price is met, the winner of the auction will be announced and the winner will be contacted immediately.
Q4: WHY DOES THE AUCTION GO INTO "FROZEN" STATUS INSTEAD OF AUTOMATICALLY CLOSING AND CONTACTING THE HIGHEST BIDDER?
A4: This allows the user to extend the time period on the auction if he/she is not satisfied with the final bid amount. The seller may extend the auction (for a small fee) to allow more people to bid on the auction or try to have someone place a bid for the reserve price to end the auction.
NOTE: Seller is not obligated to ship the item until he/she decides to close the auction.
Q5: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE AUCTION IS CLOSED AND THE WINNER IS CONTACTED?
A5: Both the Seller and the Winner are provided with each other's email address to complete the transaction. Sellers and Buyers are encouraged to use Paypal or Google Checkout in order to complete their transactions - sellers are able to send invoices. Simply include the Item Number for reference.
WARNING: DO NOT SEND ANY PAYMENTS VIA WESTERN UNION OR MONEY GRAM AS THEY MAY BE SCAMS! If someone tells you that they only accept payment by Western Union or Money Gram, please report it to us immediately at admin@localicelo.com
Q6: WHAT IS A DUTCH AUCTION?
A6: A Dutch auction is a type of auction where the auctioneer begins with a high asking price which is lowered until some participant is willing to accept the auctioneer's price, or a predetermined reserve price is reached (Wikipedia definition).
Q7: WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PERSONAL INFORMATION AFTER I CREATE AN ACCOUNT - IS IT SAFE?
A7: Localicelo.com will not use, sell, trade or offer any of your information without notifying you and without your permission. You may cancel your account at any time if you are contacted by localicelo.com regarding the use, sale, trade or offer for your information.
Q8: HOW WILL I BE CONTACTED BY LOCALICELO.COM?
A8: Localicelo.com will not contact you by phone or mail. The only way you will be contacted is through email. The only email address we will use is admin@localicelo.com. If you are contacted from any other email, it may be a scam.
WARNING: LOCALICELO.COM WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION (USERNAME, PASSWORD, BILLING ADDRESS, ETC.) If you are contacted and someone asks you for any personal information, report it to your local law enforcement agency as this may be a scam.
Q9: WHAT IF I BECOME A VICTIM OF A SCAM?
A9: First thing, immediately contact your local law enforcement agency. Second, you can file a report at WWW.IC3.GOV, which is the internet crime complaint center.
Q10: WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WINNER DOES NOT PAY FOR THE ITEM AFTER THE AUCTION HAS BEEN CLOSED?
A10: Please contact us at admin@localicelo.com. We cannot guarantee that you will receive payment, however, we will make an effort to resolve the issue for you. If the winning bidder refuses to pay, simply re-list the item (if you purchased the Free basic listing, you did not lose any money). If you did pay any fees (extra photos, added features, etc.), we will reimburse you money that you paid for as long as you re-list the item. Sellers who refuse to pay more than 1 time will have their account closed and a block will be placed on their IP address.
It is highly recommended to view a seller or buyer's feedback. If there is no feedback score available, only make small purchases or small sales to get started ... this will help minimize any risk.
Q11: WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M CONTACTED BY EMAIL AND THERE'S A LINK TO A WEBSITE THAT LOOKS LIKE LOCALICELO.COM?
A11: Localicelo.com will never include a link to other websites. Be sure to look at the address bar above. If it has something different than http://www.localicelo.com at the beginning part of the address, you're probably looking at a fraudulent website ... a Scam. Please contact us at admin@localicelo.com if you are unsure.
